In the Cape Town Municipal Landfill Anti-Seepage Project, we delivered a comprehensive geosynthetic barrier system designed in strict compliance with both international and South African standards.
The multi-layered solution integrates advanced materials to ensure long-term environmental safety and regulatory compliance:
HDPE Geomembrane (2.0 mm) — Manufactured from 100% virgin resin, fully compliant with GRI GM13 / SANS 1526:2015, with smooth and textured surfaces to combine low permeability with excellent slope stability.
Sodium Bentonite Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) — Providing a redundant mineral barrier beneath the geomembrane, with a permeability coefficient ≤ 5×10⁻¹¹ m/s, enhancing durability and sealing performance.
Nonwoven Geotextile Protection Layer (≥800 g/m²) — With puncture resistance > 2,000 N, protecting the geomembrane from potential damage caused by gravel, soil movement, and stress concentrations.
Drainage Composite and HDPE Perforated Pipes — Ensuring rapid leachate collection and discharge, preventing excessive head build-up on the liner system, while facilitating monitoring and long-term maintenance.
Final Cover System (1.5 mm HDPE cap + geotextile + topsoil layer) — Designed to isolate rainfall infiltration, control landfill gas emissions, and support vegetation for erosion control and ecological restoration.
Beyond supplying materials, we provide our clients with end-to-end technical support — from design consultation and product selection to construction quality assurance (CQA) and post-installation monitoring. Every performance indicator — permeability, tensile strength, UV resistance, stress crack resistance — is verified to meet or exceed industry benchmarks.
With our integrated material solutions and rigorous quality control systems, we enable landfill and waste management projects to achieve long-term reliability, environmental compliance, and sustainable development.
